****ing Printer!

I'm short on spare cash these days, so I can't buy that printer I dream of. But I did buy some beautiful Museo Portfolio Rag paper, thinking that, on its highest setting, my printer might manage something tolerable.

Not so.

The 300g paper got stuck, reducing the entire photo to one very black line.

My printer is the HP Photosmart - that's a laugh.

Haha, I can sympathise with you Rob. I hate printers too or should I say they hate me.

Mind you, I get my own back on them now. I buy cheap B&W laser printers (ie little Samsung ones) from eBay then when the ink runs out, throw them out and buy another! Cheaper than buying cartridges and makes me feel better :D

I use the Innova fine art range paper but I had a feeling the 300g could be a bit heavy so went for the 190g instead and that works great

I suspect that your printer just caannot handle 300gsm. Normally for that weight printer manufacturers suggest that you feed the paper through the back oc the printer so the paper does not get bet. Obviously this is on the basis that your printer has that facility.
I feel for you Rob as I bet the prints would have looked superb.

Was looking at my mums Photosmart seems it will take 250gsm when my officejet will take 380gsm they both take the same ink print to the same DPI and I can downlod all the photo software from HP just mine was £40 cheaper and if I ever set it up I can use mine as a fax sometimes its worth looking beyond the name these firms give things
