Israel-Gaza Bombings Demo in Edinburgh

I'd just been with Susan and Rhona to watch the film, Finding Vivian Maier (which is excellent, by the way!), and came out cursing myself for not having a camera with me. As we reached Princes Street, this demonstration appeared - big and noisy. I started cursing myself again, before remembering I had an iPhone 4s in my pocket...I used the HDR option, and pre-set for 'noir' rendering.

You captured the spirit of the event here Rob and your phone did very well too. What is "noir rendering"?
I'm glad you were impressed with the VM film. I saw a trailer and was put off a bit; it made it seem like a fast 'action' movie
I'm looking forward to seeing it anyway but it's been shown at the Ritzy in Brixton; the staff there, who are normally run off their feet, are in dispute with the company who refuse to pay a living wage. The staff have great support now from unions and many "names" in the film world. So we will give it a miss until that is sorted out or it appears in some other cinema near us. It will probably be out on DVD in a few weeks anyway:).

It's a fine film, a bit annoying in places, but it does seem to give a portrait of VN which is warts and all. What I found highly amusing is the cast of characters who knew her (employers, children she nannied, people in the community) were all at pains to say how weird she was, yet each one of them appears to be a complete nutter. Worth watching.

Dunno about the film, but the pictures are real interesting also based on what goes on and done by a phone. Bought a compact for incidents like that which is pocketable. From the looks of it, your phone does marvelously well Rob. So no need to swear then;)
