Critique Welcomed It Rained a little............

This is in the Ku-ring Gai National Park after a torrential downpour that lasted a day or so.

It looks a little damp there... a nicely composed shot, I like how the winding path is swallowed up by the endless foliage. This would look good in B&W I think.

Attempt at B&W

The dark and moody version.

The brighter version. In parts it look like infra red!

I do not do much B&W. The last time was a portrait of a friend. Some practice in order as I quite like the effect.

I like both of those Milan, the sky on the first is very dramatic. I think I prefer what you've done to the second one, the paler foliage brings the walkway out a bit more.

I'm just getting into B&W, now that I've discovered that Nik Collection works in Windows XP, so going through a bit of a 'what would that look like in B&W?' phase

I used Lightroom with Silver Efex. Silver Efex has some presets that include selecting by film type to emulate their style.

Blimey that is a bit damp isn't it?! I like the first B&W conversion a lot although it loses the damp and post-rain feeling of the colour shot a bit.

the color version is nice, but i like the second b&w version. the walkway makes a wonderful leading line into the image.
