Japanese shadows at the construction site

I liked the greater transparency of the 2nd shot over the minimal transparency of the first. Why are they Japanese shadows? (The tag/sign on the fabric states Build Together in Italiano ... which wouldn't the best communication tool/language in Japan.)

The title was meant to evoke a Chinese shadow play/theatre and at the same time certain very minimalist Japanese drawings (the plate, if you like, is a bit like the stamp that was placed on such drawings).

Thank you all for the feedback. I know they are not great photos, but I was afraid I was the only one who caught a stylistic suggestion. Now I know I am not alone.
