Joe Josts Pool Room

I took this shot with my Holga 120N and Fomapan 100 film at a locally well-known watering hole called "Joe Josts," in Long Beach, California. Joe Josts is one of the--if not thee--oldest taverns in Long Beach. There is nothing fancy about Joe Josts,...its a very "down to earth" place. Joe Josts has a bar room and also a larger room with some pool tables.

This shot is taken from the back of the pool table room.

I balanced my Holga on a table and held the shutter open for about 5 seconds. I developed the film in Rodinal (R09), diluted 1:100, for 90 minutes.

Love the tones here and what a great place to take shots.

Wonderful Brian (and look at those fuzzy edges!). Love the reflection off the floor and the contrast between the movement in the pool players and the folks at the bar. And the extractors in the shadows by the ceiling plus the way the window helps to balance the whole composition. Lovely stuff. And almost no dust!! ;)

Whaddya make of that, Pete? Almost no dust! :D
(I'm ultra careful about dust now because of those naughty naughty dust police.) ;)

Thanks for the comments, Pete!
