Kachina Dreams The Orchid

Kachina's are spirits in Pueblo Cosmology, representing the sun, stars, etc, sometimes in the figure of small dolls. Susan used to work in New Mexico, and brought this wee Kachina back with her. He appears every year when the Christmas tree is brought out and decorated. Looks a bit like Johnny Depp to me...

I left home when I was 18...joined the Navy. My family left New England...Boston...and moved to NM...Los Alamos. Both my sisters grew up there...

@Glenn Clabo - she lived in Santa Fe or close by. She was doing her first PhD, studying Native American poetry, living on a reservation. At one point she was a cook in a traditional New Mexican restaurant, where she discovered her love of chilli. All this was before I came along and ruined her life!
