Kein Mensch Ist Illegal

As promised in http://www.realphotographersforum.com/forum/threads/stadtmitte-im-bau.21339/#post-165222. Behind me are the apartment buildings being used to house some of those seeking asylum in Germany. This is in the centre of the city and quite a prime location for shops and other amenities.

In the last shot, is that a church on the left? Housing Muslim immigrants to face a church is interesting...

Thanks for these, Pete. It would be good to go there again once the poor sods are housed and settled.

It is but there must be a mosque somewhere in Potsdam I would have thought, if not then there will be in Berlin. They've been using the apartments for seekers of asylum since the late 90s I think and there is quite some organisation around it - I guess they'll need more space soon though and I have noticed a steady trickle of middle eastern folks flowing through the building next door to us of late - mostly families (they rent out rooms on a short-term basis and my guess is the city are using these as well).

A study on contrasts those two images, Pete. I think I see the relationship of the two buildings in the 2nd shot. Fine juxtaposition, Pete.

I like the last image more than the first, but more so the story you tell by means of the two images and what you convey in writing!

Hi Pete, excellent observation and documentation. The contrast in your photos expresses well the different situation people are in.
I think there is a mosque really close by, near "Am Kanal". But in Potsdam, nearly everything is close by.
