Critique Welcomed Las Posadas - A Christmas Tradition

Every Christmas in Mexico and South-West USA, communities come togethers to celebrate Las Posadas. Las Posadas is a religious festival which commemorates the journey of Joseph and Mary, from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. In Los Angeles, the Las Posada procession occurs at Olvera Street. Olvera Street is the first and founding street of Los Angeles. Presently, Olvera is preserved as a walk street celebrating Los Angeles Latino roots.

Great community gathering, good images to show this. Interesting to see and understand the many similarities between cultures and religions, when it comes to celebrations such as this one you just depicted. I do like the incense burner/thurible one and the last, quite a good insight into the events and feelings of attendants.

I second what Julian said. It seems to me that the participants in this celebration are very focused on the role they represent and their looks convey this. The black and white has a very pleasant silky quality.

Thank you Julian Tanase. The incense burner with a sombrero respectfully lowered in the background is also one of my favs.

Thanks Gianluca. Prior and post procession there games and food et cetera ... it was not purely "Posada" only.

There's not much room at Olvera Street. (Shepards going.)
