Leith is the main dock for Edinburgh, and retains much of its maritime history. It's an odd mixture of 1990s yuppy flats, and drug dens, alcoholics, and Tom Kitchin's award-winning restaurant. Looks great in the rain!

How do you get that lovely effect?

Just go out in the pouring rain...I increased contrast, and played with blacks and whites in Lightroom to get most of what you see, then into Nik Colour to use Glamour Glow to soften and lift the tones. Talent has nothing to do with it!

Wonderful Rob - just look at those reflections in the water and on the wet paving. Just gorgeous. Post Dreich Period I'd say!

Cheers, Pete. If you look closely at the water you'll see it is still raining...I agree that the reflections on the cobbled paving and road are beautiful.

It's one of a number of Scottish ports which are designed along the lines of those in Denmark, Sweden, etc. It would be a wonderful place to hang out more often, were it not for the ever present fear of getting your camera nicked by some crazed junkie.

Actually it is reminiscent of Copenhagen now you mention it. As I recall though, they have fewer crazed junkies in the old harbour!
