Thanks Hamish. I do have a shot with slightly more 'conventional focus' as it were but this was taken on Saturday on the dunes in the District on Monster in the The Netherlands specially for the current theme (we were there for a beach party). The shot is taken facing south and you can see the port of Rotterdam in the haze in the distance (just, as I have allowed the PP to bleed it out).
I wanted a washed out view through the parallel lines of the barbed wire (there to keep people and animals off the dunes which have recently been re-planted with Marram Grass to help stabilise them). After some adjustmenst in LR (to wash it out a bit), the image was converted to B&W in Nik SilverFX 2 (titanium print using a Neopan simulation with emphasised grain - to maintain that under-espoed feel) as a layer in PS CS5. I then reduced the opacity to allow a hint of colour back in (I wanted a very subtle hand tinted look), added the border and then a new layer applying Glamour Glow from Nik ColorFX (using a warm glow temperature to simulate a warm paper base), reduced its opacity and then added a curves adjustment layer to get the contrat just right. Tranfered back to LR and added a blue gradient to the sky as I wanted a tiny bit more colour there. So, pretty well straight out of the camera then!!
Not so keen on the overall apparent slight slope to the right the composition and faint horizon gives. May rework it to regain the balance.
