Linhof Multifocal Universalsucher Technika viewfinder

Came across one of these locally. He wants $50 for it, which seems to be less than half what they are selling for on ebay. He says it is in very good condition except some deterioration of the silvering around the front reticle. Anyone (Pete) know much about these? Not my photos.

I do, and have two (well 4 actually, if I count the ones on the mini Technikas). They are designed to cover a range of lenses used on the Technika cameras (in tihs case from 90 - 360mm). They work by moving the 'window / frame' relative to the viewfinder (you pinch the two buttons on either side and slide it forwards or backwards). This gives you a close approximation of the field of view of the lens. The knob at the back tilts the assembly and so gives correction for parallax (it is calibrated for distance on a scale).

$50 is a good price if you have a use for it. I must confess I rarely use mine and mostly use the ground glass.
