Looking East

The venue for one of my meetings last week was at Vår Gård, Saltsjöbaden, Sweden. It was built around a villa (castle), commissioned by one of the industrialists who established a resort there in the 19th century, as a training college for a chain of hotels. Now a hotel and conference centre in its own right, it contains a large collection of original works of art by many famous artists (including Marc Chagall) including the statue in the image below.

Not quite. The sun dipped below the horizon for a few hours, but it was fairly light at midnight and sunrise was at about 03:30. You need to go up further (Stockholm is only slightly further north than Aberdeen) to somewhere like Tromsø to to get a midnight sun.
