I'm liking more and more the really attractive girl (who appears in both shots) clearly listening to one of my albums on headphones - hence the miserable look :D
 
Had you posted the first one on it's own we would be saying how good it is, and it is. But the second one (obviously the first one you took) is class. Reminds me of some street shots of some of the old masters actually. What a body language. Great dreary B/W and I like the sheen on the wet footpath.
Perhaps she only adopts this pose when she is near a dropped kerb.
 
I should have posted the second one first, as that is the order I took them in, but I wasn't really thinking of which should come first when I uploaded them.

I must admit I do like Edinburgh in the rain - just as well!
 
There is a famous image (maybe Cartier-Bresson - it has been driving me nuts trying to remember) taken in the 60s of a young woman taking a photo. It is shot from behind and she is leaning to the left in an most uncomfortable looking way and one wonders why she didn't just step to the left. This raises that same question. As Tom says, class!
