I really like the composition and tones here and the 'pose' leaves a nice bit of uncertainty - falling, walking, being sucked into another dimension...

Yes, I snapped this picture as he bounced off the wall of the air lock entryway after rocket plasting himself into it folliwing HAL's display of petulance. In the film you cannot tell (Kubrik was unable to catch it on film apparantly) but clearly you can see by virtue of my photo that Dave is woozy after colliding with the wall.

He had no helmet so if the bump didn't make him woozy I'm sure the temporary lack of oxygen had an effect.

I guess I was sucked into another dimension too, but it's way too early. An interesting image indeed as I see it now! It is amazing how well the old camera and man work together
