Now isn't that a blast from the past!! Well, didn't quite come across many 1000 DMs very often, in fact, at all! as I worked in as a stuard in an army officers mess in Germany, so the wages were not that significant.
Just for the record, for those who haven't seen a Duetsche Mark or 'D-mark' before, not long before the conversion to Euro in 2002 a 1000 marks was 'about' 330 quid. I don't come across 50 quid notes these let alone something like that. Lol
I think (which I'm sure the man of knowledge in the name of Pete will correct me if I serve wrong), that these notes are the are 1990's third edition west Germany notes.

Besides appreciating the content more than many in this frame Pete, the composition wins me over too.
Brilliant shot there!

From the late '70s - or copies thereof at least. And the one top right is one of the inflation notes from before WWII - worth at the time 100,000,000 DM!! Good for a small beer I guess!! ;)

I think business is a bit slow there Brian so they nail the notes to the wall to celebrate a customer having visited. They had a bit of a rush in the late '70s after selling a beer in 1934.

Im just going to sound like a merry person tonight ... (see my last post)
I like this ... It makes you imagine the rest of the room!
