Murphy

There's a sliver of light reflecting off the post just to the right of Murphy's magnificent snout. I feel that should be removed such that his countenance emerges in chiaroscuro fashion from the shadow area. (Not sure why I feel the need to point that out.) But it's a fine shot of a beautiful animal H. DP2 again?

I know everyone goes through this same experience of discovering how good the merrill cameras are ... but seriously, this thing is insane! The tonality of the photos is absolutely awesome
it is indeed a struggle not to become an irritating bore by shouting it out every time. I am pondering whether or not to get the new EM-5mk2 but finding it harder to work with any other files. The only way forward seems to be film

Film, eh? There's a thought! :D

I just took a roll of 120 Velvia 50 and the Mamiya C330s to the tropical houses in the botanics. All those greens and deep reds - Velvia country! Alas, within five seconds the lenses and glass viewing screen were fogged up to the max. It proved very difficult to line up a shot, just cleaning the screen and lenses for four or five seconds at a time. But I'm hoping the effect might be "quite interesting".

I take it you'll have deep pockets for the Film 55 project ;)

Tried my first few images with the DP1 yesterday. Didn't have much time and I don't know about this digital stuff anyway but my first results were uh,...how you say in english,...fail?

H,...would you mind mentioning your exposure settings for the picture of Murphy?

Brian the jpegs are no where near what the Raw produces. Iso 100 to 250 for colour shots a bit higher if the light is very good, or it gets a bit blotchy. I shoot mainly in A aperture priority , it has an aps-c sensor so f5.6 is the sweet spot. Use any iso for B+W and use the Blue channel in SPP.

Finally, a reasoned and informative answer from a responsible and mature individual. Thank you Julian. (MacKillop: :p)

100 ISO 1/100th 2.8 ...
Or there abouts
I can't see me taking it off 1oo ISO.
I meter with the spot meter and err toward the left to preserve the highlights. The shadows seem to take care of their own quite well.

It seems that there are at least two cheeky buggers on this forum then Rob. As I've said before, no sound virtues. I probably have to expose my horns after all.
Make that three, ya cheeky bugger!
