My New Toy

Actually, new toy camera and also new book. The camera is a Superheadz "Blue Ribbon", which is a copy of the celebrated Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim, which is no longer under production by Vivitar. The camera has a 22mm lens and shoots 35mm film. The "Blue Ribbon" name is simply due to the color. If you get a black one its called a "Black Slim Devil" and if you get different color it will have some other cute and quirky name. I got the blue one only because it was $5 cheaper than the other colors and qualified for Amazon's free shipping.

I put some Fuji Superia 400 film in it and headed out for a walk with Sadie. This weekend they had the US Open Surf Championships in Huntington Beach, so Sadie and I ventured down there and I got some picks. It was a busy place, I can tell you. It was like 4th of July all over again. Some foties below.

Its very cheap feeling, Paul. Not in the least robust in any way. However, so far I like what it has given me, and the wide 22mm lens sure fits a lot of stuff in the frame. Thanks for your comments, Paul.

Cheap it may be but you've certainly used it to good effect. And with the wide angle lens you seem to have harvested even more 'accidental' shots of scantily-clad young ladies than normal. I especially like your series of conflcting religions. Especially the pair with the more pagan bent!

Pete,...I just hold the camera up and if skin walks in front of it why am I to do? ;) Anyway, thanks for the comments, Pete.
