The Chac-Mool is an archetypal motif of pre-Columbian Mayan culture. Chac-Mool statues are to be found all over Southern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and wherever Mayan culture flourished before the arrival of the Spanish.

This is a photo of my own Chac-Mool, whose head I glued back on one day after a dreadful fall that he endured.

This is a pinhole camera image. (I took my second Vivitar PN2011 and made that into a pinhole camera.) I think theexposure was about 3 seconds.

what a face of distaste!
Haha,...yes it is. Although the Chac-Mools all have the same basic look--Reclining, knees up, head turned at right angle to the body, bowl or receptacle of some kind on torso--the look on their faces can differ. However, I believe all of them I've seen have a quite menacing visage. Thanks for the comments Hamish.

I think Paul and Hamish are spot on and I like this shot a lot. I actually thought it was you in your Avatar picture - now I know!! I alos like that the pin-hole has captured, what I guess is the outer ring of teh lens assembly. And it's a lot better result than I've seen from these pin-hold body cap jobbies that's for certain!
