Should have bought a Mac ;)

Seems like it will be good enough for most things. It might run a little slow on intensive operations but that is really due to software writers finding ever more inventive ways to write over bloated programs as they figure that manufacturers should just make things faster and consumers should fork out even more money for the faster products.

Rant over, looks pretty smart Darren and Win 7 is a good operating system.

Why? is it going to Rain? only joking;) I always think that its a bit like Nikon and Canon both do the same job but in a different way...........but then I've never had the luxury of owning both :(

More of a comment around Darren's frustration with RAW software on his Windows machine - Mac's generally don't have the same level of driver frustration, which is one of the reasons I use them.

er Mac are twice the price of this machine, now its se up & working fine..... :-)

Good to hear - congrats on the new lappy :)

Funny thing selection of makes..........Brand loyalty etc. opens up a wide debate, I personally really have no preferences and hence no loyalty, I use Nikon but would kit a canon, a pentax, a sony etc and edit on a mac, of course dependant on availablity of folding stuff and if it fit the job I wanted it to do, indeed I used to use Amiga, anyone remember them? Fore-runner of the mac and indeed the GUI windows system I believe. I am certainly not kicking any choice and would never, choice is good, labels I fear not so and get frightfully annoyed with people who claim this brand/label is better than that one simply because it is in vogue or carries a bigger following we all get too hung up on this type of consumerism, I reckon if Nike made a laptop it would be top of the sales lists before you could blink simply because it's a brand.............maybe it too late (UK) to delve into brands lol :)

hehe, don't get me started, you should see the mobile phone I use
