Quite simply really, one raw image, converted to TIFF, clicked graduated layer for B+W and dodge and burned. Used the lasso tool to select local areas I wished to use the gamma adjustment to darken or lighten. So really lightening and darkening local areas, trying in my own way to draw parts to the foreground and push elements of the pic back through tonal values and hues and contrast. I would have spent more time if the initial pic had it been better, but I used the Olympus 12-50mm kit lens, for it's wide end, which is not that good..
I have started to look at the Graduation layer and to use it for converting to B+W. It is also very good as I have occidentally found, for colour renditions. If you use the graduation layer in colour mode and then fade the layer, the colours can be very good.
It is about time I explored Photoshop a bit more.
