You are aware that you need to apply to the Official RPF Edinburgh Correspondent for permission to photograph the great city? And he might need to meet you in order to check your credentials?

You'll never leave in one piece Daz..........and that Xpro will surely be on the mind of the Scottish correspondent ......be careful in them granite streets ..........

finding somewhere to stay is nightmare Rob and £££££££ lol, well if you ever meet the RPF Edinburgh Correspondent can you ask him for his permission :-).

thinking staying outside Edinburgh & driving in & leave car parked up all day & evening until 1am ish, or maybe in a park & ride

Honest tho i always get train to Edinburgh as its a pain to park in centre and train station is right in middle of everything

well i was thinking that Allan about train into city, but wont 80k other people be thinking same thing hahahaha

Edinburgh is currently the worst place in the UK to park in. The installation of the new tram network, plus the laying of new gas pipes on every street, has turned traffic into utter chaos. Best avoid driving if at all possible. There are two train stations - Waverley and Haymarket. Waverley will land you right bang in the centre of all the holiday activity. Trains come to Waverley from all directions, so just choose a location and travel in.

Good choices would include North Berwick, and South or North Queensferry. North Berwick gives you the most spectacular views of the Forth Bridge, but accommodation is scarce (there is a hotel). South Queensferry has loads of hotels, and views of the bridges looking north. Only 10 to 15 minutes travel to Waverley.

North Berwick is south of Edinburgh, and is a really nice village on the coast, with beaches, shops, great views of Edinburgh, etc.
About 30 minutes travel to Waverley.

new years eve i'm in bed at about 10pm then up at 3 to drive into the highlands on a photomission :) i don't drink so i'm not missing anything lol
