Nice Sculptures/mobiles

I went out with Dave (my grumbling, irritable photographer instructor) this AM and Billie, this really nice 52 year old woman who is in his day class.

Anyway, we stopped by this ladies house in Bartlett who made all these cool mobiles. I only had the X100 + the huge MF camera which would have been a hassle. They would have been better with different lens, but oh well. They only like to shoot old churches and cemeteries which I find kind of boring. I did manage to take these while they talked to the sculpture lady. I have to kind of hide the digital camera when I go out with Dave because he complains about it.

I'm going back that way tomorrow and buy one from her. There was this really cute black and white mixed breed puppy who wandered from across the street. He followed me around. I went over and told the people to watch out for the puppy. They were watching some kind celebrity news/talk show sitting on a really eye popping floral print couch. I wish I had taken a photo.

Your teacher sounds a character. He would make me deliberately turn up with the wrong camera, just to wind him up. That aside, these are fun shots - what crazy mobiles. Love them. The last shot is classic Steve - it's like you couldn't resist :) Seems to me that when left to your own devices, you don't need a teacher, Steve.

What a crazy bunch of mobiles/sculptures, my kind of crazy, stuff from junk brilliant, and stop winding up your teacher ;-)

Well I took that one when Dave and Billie ran into the convenience store to get some coffee. He came out saw me crouched on the ground and got in his truck and stared at me with this look on his face that said: "Moron." :) Admittedly it wasn't as bad as the day I made him stop so I could take pictures of the abandoned car wash in Marlin. He was not happy about that one.
