Not so much a photo...

I'd like to think that I am demonstrating some photographic skill here, by post this image; but I think it's more to do with the subject matter. Quite narcissistic...

Some of you will know that around this time last year, my beloved motorbike was stolen. I had spent months & months cleaning, polishing, restoring, loving, replacing, photographing, maintaining and keeping in the house, my bike, until I could afford to insure it. That day came and on my first outing (after its MOT) the engine blew up at 60mph.
I managed to find the cash to pay for a new engine and paused the insurance until she was ready...
I got her back on the Wednesday...and planned to insure her for a Saturday spin...
On the Friday night before my spin, she was stolen and I never seen it again.

Quite sad really, but I think it was amplified by the fact that I knew I wouldn't be able to afford a bike for a long time to come.

Hence this photo...

I was given a Yamaha FJ1200 last week!!!!
It does need work doing to it, but I have the time, if not the money! I plan to spend the winter in the garage working on it...and come the summer...well :)

For anyone interested, except me, so far I have stripped the front fairing-stay, clocks, headlights, wiring loom, sub-frame cover's rear-lights, tank, airbox and freed the choke-rod and stripped and cleaned the clutch...to a degree. I've also removed the front Two calipers, which have found a decorative (I tell Emma) home in the kitchen!

This should possibly be on an FJ forum somewhere, but I hope the snapshots compensate :)

I like that first shot Barry and a good back-story to go with it. My last remaining bike is in a workshop in my garden - in kit form at present - and I haven't ridden for 10 years (before that bikes were my only form of transport for 25 years). Maybe one day I will rebuild mine and get back on two wheels. Until then I look forward to hearing about yours!!

Nice one Barry!
That was some kinda few months eh?
Still, new life, new bike, can't be bad!?
Keep us up to date with photos eh, be interested to hear how you get on with it!!

Nice photos too! The dark one is really nice, and the one with rain on the window some how seems appropriate ... Sense of morning, visible, but behind glass, then something new in the dry near some flowers ... Maybe im reading a bit to much in to it, but it appears to work on a few levels ;)
