Odds and Sodds - Trip To Glasgow

Rob MacKillop

Edinburgh Correspondent
With Susan in Glasgow. I've contributed two or three themed threads. These are the leftovers...

1. Queen Street Station Roof

2. Escalating

3. Grass Rooted

4. This one has driven me to distraction. I've pulled it this way, that way, every effing way, but it just never looks right. Do specialists in architectural photography use special lenses?

5. What Happened Next?

I like 2 also. (Escalators not working that day,...or were those particular Glaswegians just in a hurry?) What happened on the grass--earthquake? Don't know why you don't like the tenements, Rob. I do!

No. 2 for me too. excellent Rob

A bit late on this, but Pete's right. The only way to keep a shot of a building from going wonky on you is if you hold the camera level with the ground. If you tilt it up, the walls tilt away. So we use special lenses to shift up and capture the tops of buildings while holding the camera steady and level to the ground.

Plan B is to correct in post..!
