Olympus OM lenses

Hello everyone. I've got my Dad's old OM-PC 35mm (1988?) camera that I want to use to shoot a bit. I already have two lenses for it, and a sigma 35-70 2.8-4 and a 75-210 3.5-4.5. I don't know a whole lot about older lenses (really, none at all) and I'd like to couple a pair of primes to the camera. There is an obvious supply of 50 1.8 lenses but is there any specifics I should look for when looking at quality/image quality? Should I look to a different company but use an adapter?

I still have my 1980 OM2n and would be using it now if I could afford the film. The standard lens is pretty good. If you want greater sharpness then the 28mm is excellent. The 75-150mm zoom was the first of its kind, I believe. I used it a lot on my travels and while the slides look fine, there is considerable loss of quality at the edges when the images are scanned. I hope this helps :)
