On The Road

A few images from what I have stored here on my laptop.
These are good memories from a stopover in Mongolia we made when travelling the Tran Siberian Train with my daughter in 2012.

Superb, Tom. The first really gives a sense of the vast open space. I remember once flying to Tokyo over Russia. It took seven hours to clear Russia! I couldn't believe how big it is.

The second gives a good sense of how surprised the locals were to see you, and the third gives a good sense of how friendly they were.

Fine shots. Any more?

That first one reminds me of, but is much better than, Rhein II. The two chaps on the motorbike are great shots also. Father and son? And is that lad actually wearing a "Scotland Forever" hat? What a good lad! His faither must be awfy proud! :)

Some landscapes here now, all from Mongolia. I'll be happy to show you photographs of people and buildings if you would like that. Hope these come over ok as I prepared them on the laptop which is no place to play with images:)

I am a man of few words;) therefore I can't comment every picture, but I like them, appreciate them and find them informative as well as very interesting. Each and everyone is very good Tom. Please bring out more mate. They are beautiful.

Yes, this is a magnificent series, Tom. The second-last of the second batch really got to me. So beautiful. What did it feel like to you to be there (we can get some of that from your images, of course)?

Thanks Aldous
We stayed in the capital Ulan Bator; interesting but not a very nice place at all. In one evening there were two attempts to relieve my daughter of her hand bag and one to relieve me of my camera.
From there we hired a little Soviet mini bus to take us into the countryside. We were never too far from the Gobi Desert, indeed the place yurts we stayed in were in an area called Semi Gobi. We would liked to have seen other areas of the vast country but our visit was a stop over from the trans siberian train journey.

Stay safe every time when your travel to China with your daughter, anything could happen over there. You should spend few days to travel to Hong Kong and I would show you around :)

Many thanks Aldous.
I think my long haul backpacking trips are over now; my daughter does not live in China anymore now. Would love to visit HK sometime and would love to meet you if that ever happened. Very kind of you.
