The Palos Verdes Peninsula, (PV to locals), rises from the Pacific atop 100' high cliffs. PV is located between Santa Monica Bay to the north and to the south Los Angeles and Long Beach harbors. It is considered a geological anomaly, a huge solid rock dominating and surrounded on three sides by the Pacific and by low laying coastal wetlands where it attaches to the mainland.
