Parade's End

Did you get any stories? This generation is fast leaving us. My neighbor from years past flew dive bombers off of an aircraft carrier in WWII and was highly decorated but he did not wish to talk about it. One of the nicest people I ever knew and was a second grandpa to my daughter. He did not like having his photo taken but I convinced him once to pose in his office. My film was too slow and I didn't have my tripod but at least I got a photo of him. He and his wife were dear friends and I miss them. I salute you Mr. Switzer for your service. Thanks for all your sacrifices.♥️GeorgeSwitzer_10032_DF1080px.jpg

Like your Mr. Switzer I've always found veterans to be reticent about their experiences. My father was, the more I asked the more he clammed up.
Perhaps this is how it should be. They are bound by a camaraderie that that most of us can never hope to join. Perhaps this is reflected in my photo. I hope so. I, too, salute them.
