What a superb series Rob. Great tones and use of the light. Love the framing in number 1 and the lines in number 4. And the tones in number 2 are just lovely. The shots with the figures in I like also and number 2 is superbly timed I think as is the person and dog in number 6. And the composition in the last one is very good. Beautifully balanced. As I said before, a superb series.

You're making very fine use of the Scottish gloom, Rob! ;) The clouds in 1, 2 5 and 7 are wonderful. I like the dog walker a lot. (Did you get the horizon straight like that with your eye, or did you straighten it in PP?) I like it for the compo but also for the layers: Sky to sea, sea to smooth sand, smooth sand to fluffy sand, fluffy sand to whatever that is.

Very nice all of them!

Thanks, guys. To be honest, I think I went a wee bit OTT with pp - it wasn't quite THAT gloomy, but almost...a cold wind, everyone wrapped up, the sky about to crack with rain, maybe even hailstone. All in all, a good Scottish summer!

In number 3, the dog walker, that is a grey granite wall in the foreground. Even though I was obviously there, seeing it all in its full colour, my memory is of the sky, sea, sand and wall being all the same colour. It was hard to spot a difference when I changed the images to black and white.

The tractor was the most exciting thing there, churning up the sand, and leaving straight lines everywhere, and wonderful circles where the tractor turned around. One wee girl kept walking round and round in one of the large circles left by the tyres, followed, as you can see, by her perplexed dog.

I'll be honest and say that I really did try hard to get the horizon straight in camera, but one or two required a wee adjustment in pp, but I can't remember which.
