REDBREAST

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm off this week and have a project to install a bird bath and several bird feeders in my backyard. I don't think I have lens long enough. I couldn't take one this good anyway. Rob is right, the DOF is absolutely perfect on the first one. I really like the second one too. I'd probably running to the store for a loaf of bread....:D

Very nice! How spherical is its body?!! :)

I know they appear to be different birds, yet are the same. It was cold and it was hungry, maybe desperate so came very close and stayed a while. It did puff itself into a ball, maybe this is a way to keep warmer.

Steve I always mean to carry bread with me to attract the birds closer. Never remember though.

Thanks Rob and Stan.

Julian, both are beautiful in telling a compelling story of survival, and how the dark side could show up so easily on cute little birds too. Though, I prefer the peaceful and vulnerable feel on the first one. :)

I like 'em both a lot, Julian, and I find the sharpness in the images to be exquisite. However, I'm saddened by the second image.

Truth be known I did not notice the open mouth at the time and only in PS. Fortunately it is not so cold in Cornwall ever. I'll take a few bits of bread next time.

Can't image getting that close with a 75mm. Awesome images.

Grant I was in a public garden where the birds and insects are very used to people. The Robin was a cars length away, with the M4/3 lens it converts to 150mm 35mm equivalent.

Robins have lots of meaning to me. Spring is one of them. These European ones are must cuter, at least in the first one, than our American ones. You caught this one in a "get away from me human" mode very well. Nice work.
