Reflections [loneliness]

Very nice collection, Julian. The second has a a faintly familiar landscape. Can you tell us where it is?

I’m unsure about your subtitle of loneliness. I’m guessing that is your interpretation? You could be absolutely right, of course, but I’d like to open up the possibility of peace, oneness, calm…or even boredom! How about scientific enquiry in the first? Or is she looking for a flat stone to skim across the water? The second might show a student of architecture…The third, a poet?

By giving us your (possible) interpretation, you have limited ours…What do you think?

Rob, the title was meant to suggest one's singularity in a place where there are usually more people than one, I suppose. Of course, the term I used is not quite the exact description of what I had in mind, but I could not pinpoint in words what exactly I meant, sry. As you kindly added, there is also peace and calm, contemplation and why not, boredom. To be honest, I wanted to leave the title blank, for there are so many emotions in trying to read one's reason of standing alone somewhere and apparently, daydreaming of sorts.

The second photograph is taken on the Danube, in Budapest; the first one in Bournemouth, the third on the beach in Brighton.

The three B’s!

Of course, none of them were alone. In the background was a guy with a camera…Maybe that is who the title is concerned with?

The whole series is remarkable, but the first one is particularly significant for me. I am with that girl, I am that girl, or rather I would like to be that girl in that moment. I get very emotional about it.
The photo conveys the feeling of movement (in time, more than in space) and a promise of a coming élan.
