Religion And Politics

In a pure visual way these are superb, I'll not think riddles and keep it visual I find it simpler and best suited to my mind. Until I got counting and they are both made up of
six obvious elements. o_O

Ah, numerology. What fun! :) Think trinity...
Having been brought up as an Agnostic its easier to sit on the fence. I had a good friend Lional Miskin, passed away. Much older than myself but an artist who liked my work.
He'd talk for hours about the meanings of what I did ( never sure if there was any) and yes, used number counting. I'd forgotten most of supposed meanings but the idea's stuck with me.
Like to explore more at some time.

There is an entire book devoted to numerology in the music of Bach - quite a read, but I'm not sure if Bach meant it all.

The catholic trinity of three in one, and one in three, can easily be seen in this image. The middle one (the Son) being the only one you can see through - come to God through His Son, Jesus, especially in the hour of death - present in the grave stone on the right.

But this image is also a questioning of religion - the false light, for instance. I immediately saw the trinity when I was in front of it, and knew I was photographing the scene for that reason. But it wasn't until I came to edit it did I see the potential for questioning it.

The politics image is more simple - politicians dividing land and people, again with false hope.

I know I'm a candidate for Pseuds Corner here! LOL. But what the heck. Sometimes I think about these things for hours on end, and inevitably it will feed into whatever I am doing. One thing is for sure, I never criticise anyone for their beliefs. Whatever gets you through the night...

I have been returning to these shots Rob to see what meanings I could fine. These weren't them but I like the interpretation and the fact that they were, at least in part, in your mind when you created them. The images themselves I like a lot both for the tones and the textures. I am intrigued by the focus and the illusion(?) that I am looking in on something (in both cases) but cannot work out at what - and that like. The apparent smear in the upper one is also quite intriguing. A very fine pair and actually even stronger for you interpretation (you pseud you!). :)

Thanks, guys. Yes, Pete, that smear looks like Mary to me, Jesus' mum. But I thought I might be going too far in pointing it out. LOL!

When editing the politics one, I noticed it was a bit off, the horizontals and verticals. But somehow that fitted in with a feeling of tension, despite the attempted orderliness. Such is politics...
