I agree. This works very well as well. I might be tempted to drop the highlights a touch those as they draw the eye I find.

They do look interesting Rob , The carpet of colour they leave beneath the trees is hard to capture well at times and this approach seems to me a good idea.

The mass of pink petals against the green leaves is high contrast, opposites , striking but think the brief flush of flowers is possible a good idea. Yes prefer the darker reds, the whites tend to look a bit like toilet roll left in a lay-by soon after flowering and especially when fallen for a few days after rain.

I do understand that it is not only Rense who is a botanic here as their mouths are so full of it, them two. Pink underneath may have been nice you know
