Thanks Pete. One of those Photographs for me which got me thinking about composition. Not at the time but when processing it. Most of the time I get in close, but have been doing that for ever it seems. I'll now try the approach of making a good composition of plants . The treason we enjoy gardens are more about that, I imagine. I'll give it a go anyway.
This is a lovely subtle image and to me a very nice composition that tells a little story which would have been lost if one gets too close. ( That darn Merlin again ). No offence.
I wonder how different this would look on screen without the large black border. Julian, I suspect it will take on a different look and possibly allow what is a beautiful composition to show itself off more .

Yes very. I certainly know from painting how much placing colours adjacent to each , changes the perception of each of the other colours. As the black frame would here.
