Rhona Tripped

I agree, there are some nice qualities here. I guess the trip had hit the stops though and these were quite under-exposed. The noise is mostly from the scan and I bet you could squeeze more out of these. My favourites is the second to last. :)

Great stuff Rob, like the second to last portrait.
And you seem right about her being herself.
Funny you should say that, I find that people in general are more relaxed with a film camera in their faces opposed to something where they can see the 'immediate' result, digi that be.
My wife hates her photo being taken, and it involves a lot of persuading, if not, just pure arrogance to snap away in her direction.
However, she was very happy, relaxed and herself for me to take my OM10 with me and take photos of her hours before the delivery of our third child!!

Does this seem to be the case with anyone else? Is it a psycological matter for people to forget about the end result of themselves when using film?
Or is it just me who looks at it that way?

The banding. That is a digital effect as is the speckling. Those areas should be mostly black I would imagine (ie virtually clear on the negatives).

It's a while since I did any scanning, but this effect reminds me of when I tried to scan some 120 roll film (colour slides). I used a flatbed and the cheaper ones (which is what we have) are reported to have difficulty getting into the shadows. I've used a fair bit of FP4 and a lot of HP5 (which should have more grain), but I haven't seen anything like this. I agree with Pete that you can probably get far more from your negatives.

It doesn't matter to me that the last one is out of focus - the expression and the action are superb :)

It's you! I wouldn't let anyone near me with any kind of camera.. :D

Last photo caption: Ayyyeeeee (Fonz impression) :D

Yes, the little red flag pops up. The camera seems to be working fine. The photographer, on the other hand...Actually, the negs are fine. Must get them scanned again.

Yes - about four times ;) Then Nik Silver for a bit of contrast boosting. I quite like it now. The remaining speckles don't worry me at all. Cheers.
