I feel your loss Glenn, we had a Black Labrador for nearly 17 years and when she finally died it was one of the hardest days of my life.
Still lots of great and happy memories though.

Glenn,

I can only imagine the grief you must be feeling right now. My Stanley hit 12 this year and this has been on my mind a lot lately. He is the best friend I have ever had so I know how you feel about Chessie. If it's any consolation, nothing can take away the many great memories and great times you had together.

Again, my sincerest condolences. I know just how special dogs are.

I share your pain and send you my sincere condolences.

We lost Simou, our beloved Rottie, in January after 13 wonderful years of love and companionship. He was the last of three.

It affected me so much that I swore on a stack of Bibles to never ever have another dog.

Evie, another Rottie, joined our family in March.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your darling Girl.

Thank you all for the kind words. This has been a very strange day without Chessie. I have usually had an overlap of labs where one was getting middle aged and we got another. Since moving from the country to the city we decided not to do that. I haven't had a day without a dog in many...many...many years. Since retirement...Chessie was my all day companion. Again...thank you. Maybe I'll just walk around town and start a Boston Dogs series?

Steve...As I was driving my old girl to the wonderful vets at Angell Vet Hospital on South Huntington...I thought of you...because I knew you would understand what I was going through. If/When you come back...this is the place for care. Amazing and caring. http://www.angell.org/vet-services/angell-boston/emergency/

Sorry to hear of your loss. My condolences. Losing such a friend brings such a deep sense of sadness. She lived and passed truly loved, and I bet she returned that love every day.

This winter waiting for a bus a couple stood near me well decked in winter wear. The little doggie accompnaying them shivering without a winter jacket.
If only all people would be decent to faithful friends.

This spring, on the bus a woman hopped on with a friend. This friend looked so sorrowful it was clear to me the friend needed a loving companion. This woman nice as she was was oblivious to the friends sorrow.
If only people did not miss the sorrow in friends eyes.

Your friend had care and love Glen. The best any friend could have.

Happy memories.

Time to build new happy memories with a new friend.

Glenn,

I am so sorry to read your post. My condolences for the passing of Chessie. :(
I felt the loss in my heart, as I had lost my best dog when I was a teenager, and none could filled his space.
Their fond memories stay with us and our past times with them still enrich our lives having had such special bonds.

Thinking of you, Nihat
