Road To Nowhere

Peter firstly thank you for dragging these back , not the first time. Thought they had been forgotten. The other day I realised I had downloaded DxO's Film pack 3 emulation in October, they gave it away as a freebie for a short time,
all you needed to do was to give over your e-mail for a registration number. It had been lying there unused and forgotten. I took various B+W images into it after conversion in Ps the other day . I was quite surprised and pleased with the results, quite subtle but noticeable, most often a positive result. the first image went through that process.

the road in the second looks like it would be pretty fun to drive. love the drama in the first with the clouds and light hitting the tall grass. beautiful tones.

Thanks Beth. Yep it is a fun drive. I was not at the top when taking the photo as it was so narrow and the only passing place was where I stopped. It is a dead end road, but where lots of people come here to walk too the
highest location in the county, 'Brown Willy', you have to walk over 'Rough Tor' to get there. That is the stony tor just peeking over the fields .
We used to run over and back as kids, maybe stopping to have hot cross buns as a snack somewhere.
Speeds down and up the hill, I wont tell but you get that feeling where your stomach leaves you if you go fast enough. Also of course being aware the cars approaching are out of sight until the last few seconds.
Among all the granite as you walk there are many large broken granite grinding mill wheels. I think they were cut and chiselled on location, if they cracked they were left and if they did not crack were taken away and used.
