Rob Goes To York

All Huawei P9 shots.

I had to spend three hours in York, en route to somewhere else. It's not the first time I've been there, but I was on my own so I spent time at the National rail Museum. What a heavenly place. Again, I'm happy with the results from this phone camera.

1. York Station:

2. Glass Lined, no less:

3. Roof

4. Black as coal:

5. Friends

6. Venice of the Midlands

7. Bridge

beautiful series, especially the first and last shots. great comp. in the first shot, the bend in the ceiling windows ending at the far end of the first train car works really well. and the light and shadow in the last works pretty well.

Yes, Dave, that railcar is special. So beautifully made. Lots if great things in the museum. Good food too, enjoyed to the accompaniment of a live brass band. I enjoyed my visit.

That title was a shock. I had to sit down. I thought it said 'Work' not 'York'!

I agree with Steve. That first is brilliant, with its genie-like swirl. I also like the dark roof a lot as well and the two trains. Living the exposure so dark on the head-on shot works well too. It gives the loco a nice sense of menace.

Work? What's that? I'm a musician, and therefore laze around all day taking drugs and having sex with animals. Work? Pah!

There was a moment's hesitation with the dark loco. Should I, or shouldn't I? But I did, and you have to admit, it's not bad quality for a phone. I doubt if my old Sigmas could have done much better. That is, of course, until you come to printing. These phone shots are fine for a screen, maybe not so good for print.

Haha. Pet Sounds. Very funny.

I'll try a print of the first shot. But what size...I'm sure it would work well 6x4 or 7x5. Once we get into double figures, there might be issues. I'll report back.
