Ruby's Diner

I love this one, Brian. To a foreigner, it screams AMERICA! I like the waiter up above, with his hat - the very typical uniform we see in movies. The architecture is very 50s, I'd guess, a time of prosperity and confidence - for some. And then there is the lone guy, looking bored, and not quite in synch with the vibe of the place. The flag looks a little troubled, or more accurately, a little unfurled. You know, this could be a revisionist critique of Americana. On the other hand, I could be reading too much into it ;) But it's a good fotie, one that has stimulated some thought, and that's no bad thing.

This photo is so good words escape me. I do have to agree with Rob that you could make a fascinating read on this about America.

Really great Brian. I would buy a print of this if you could make it 11.5 x 11.5. Seriously.

I like how you have interpreted the image Rob. It certainly looks a period fotie and so everything you have said makes perfect sense. I'm delighted this picture brought that out. Thanks.

I too like this very much, Brian and I also like Rob's reading of it. The camera, tones and grain work so well with the theme. Don't know as much about football as Rob, but it's a damn fine photo. ;)
Rob is football daft Pete. :) Thanks for your comments Pete.

Wouldn't that depend on the thought Rob?
Anyways, it is as I remember it coming to that state first time back in 1967. Thanks Brian for bringing back sweet memories. A good shot, give my best to Helga.
