Russian Sputnik Stereographic (3D) camera

Hi all,

I have decided to treat myself to another camera, when researching on my project thread I found a few of these cameras around, although not too many, after I saw how they worked I wanted one. I do love the engineering with regards to the synchonised geared lenses! Its takes 120 film giving nice large photos to use - maximum of 6 double 3D photos or 12 single photos and it also has a timer plus a whole host of other features! Its a bit different and I love it!

As I did with the last camera I have taken photos of me 'unboxing' it.

Here is the protective case:

Back (with the hole to see what exposure you are on through the case)

Base - (with tripod mount so you don't have to take the camera out the case to shoot photos)

I have quite a few rolls of 120 film arriving soon so will look forward to some test shots, I also have 6 frames to hold the images in so you can see them in 3D - one photo for each eye hence the 2 lenses

Enjoy :D (I know I will!)

Lol, thats exactly what I thought when I saw it lol :D takes the standard 120 roll so the images will be larger and higher def. than the ones that use 35mm film.

Here is the viewer I need (apparently I need to speak to a 'DrT' in the US to get the viewer)

I got a set of 10 frames to mount them images in, seems that they are transparents rather than negatives used:

The seller sent me a full set of frames with 1 pair or images included so I could try them out, im sure if they are printed on paper and viewer from a certain distance they will work the same way.

Here are the things the seller has done (the issues with this camera is usually light leaks and sync issues)

1) installed light seals all around the camera back to prevent light leaks
2) painted the interior with matt black to minimize flare
3) disassembled the lenses to clean them and blacken the edges, again to reduce flare
4) collimate all three lenses to a common focus with the screen.
5) added an accessory shoe for flash or viewfinders

Ive just tried to fit a 120 film reel into my Six-20 and it won't fit, so it looks like I will be trying this camera out first!

Isnt there some sort of traditional viewer you can get?

Here is what would have originally come with the camera (I believe that the transparent holders are a later addition)
