Sexy Bedroom Shot

I'm just not sure sexy is the word you mean Rob ... I can't quite put my finger on the word you do mean ... I just know sexy isn't it ;)

i think the second is the most effective somehow!
How did you do it? Double exposure or a long one?

:o One thing we know about the Internet is that there will be some people out there who think it is! We don't want to marginalise them, do we? [doh]

One long shot, 30 seconds, half of that with me, half without.

wow what a sexy image, defo playboy material there..........!!

hahahaah seriously this image reminds me of something from Charles dickens Ebeneezer Scrooge movie LOL

Ahmad's photo yesterday meant that I'd sleep with the light on,
Looking at this pic, I'm staying up tonight with the Kleenex ;)

Sorry bit crude lol

Rob, you've turned me.. I've got rid of the girlfriend, when can I pop round?

Another successful experiment I reckon! Like Hamish, I prefer the 'Tin-Type' version. And your intense stare really adds all sorts of ambiguity to this shot. One can read some sort of defiance into it - I am determined to prove that I exist despite my insubstantial appearance in this image. I also like the way the mirror adds elements of unreality to the scene as well. As I said, a successful experiment I think. What, if anything, were you trying to convey?

Well, Pete, I've been looking at early dadaist/surrealist experiments with photography. Some of them are quite simple double exposures. But in the majority of them, the sitter looks deadly serious, even (or especially) when there is an element of humour. And usually they had mad hair as well - a gift for me :o

I felt the first above came closer to the threatening quality I was seeking, but agree that the second, overall, is a better edit.

Adam, down boy!

Mad hair seems to have been a feature of 19th C male portraiture.

I prefer the first one. My first thought was,...life in a tenement. In particular it conjures images of tenement dwellers by Jacob Riis.

I was born in a tenement. My parents and two elder sisters were living with my mum's mother and family. There were thirteen of us in an apartment built for one average-sized family. Apparently there was gas but no electricity. Cue Monty Python sketch...

I have fond memories of life in the tenements in Mitchell Street in Rutherglen. There must have been several million kids on that street. We seldom wanted for accomplices or adventure. But,...living conditions were not ideal (e.g., kludgie doon the stair fur 3 faimlees!). 19th C flats for 20th C people. As children we didn't know any better, though. I was 9 when we escaped.
