I just got back from visiting several volcanic sites in central Oregon. The Big Obsidian Flow and the Lava Cast Forest. I haven't really digested all of the shots yet but here are a few. Acres of 7000 year-old lava flow.
This was taken with a 14-140 zoom lens when the squiggle of obsidian caught my eye:

This was one of several single-shot, hand-held, macro exposures:

...and as amazing as it seems, there is often a splash of color amidst the fields of black lava rock:

The Lava Cast Forest consists of acres of lava rock with various holes created by trees that once stood in the path of the molten magma. I have several images, but they need me to deal with them first.
