I think you are right, Pete - very montage like. Yet they are all as found. I put about twenty on my Flickr site this afternoon. Once you start noticing them...

Did you pump up the saturation at all on these, Rob? They're very nice.

Nice collection. You'll soon be know locally as the 'leaf man', wandering the streets of Edinburgh, face turned to the ground, taking pictured of leaves!

Brian - yes, I increased the 'vibrancy' in Camera Raw, and boosted the blacks, which brought out the reds.

Pete - I did get a few sniggers from passers-by, and one kid saying to his mum, "What's that man doing?", but mum never answered.

I took these shots knowing exactly what I would do with them in raw editing, and they turned out pretty much as I thought. But there's always a nice surprise here and there, such as the fish-like leaf in the second image, which wasn't clear at all in natural light. Someone on Flickr asked me why I change nature by editing. But what comes out of the camera is no more or less real. We know that insects, for instance, see colours differently from us, and we are also not 100 per cent sure that we all see the same blue, for example. So, I like playing with different perceptions. "Let me take you down...Strawberry Fields...nothing is real"

Silly question. You're no changing nature, you're just manipulating a fotie. Its art.
