Still Life Monochromes

These are the best of the monochromed PP'ed images. All were shot in colour in digital but these seemed good candidates for monochrome.

I was freeform on the PP on all of these but did have an idea of what I was going for. This just had a slight bit of tinting to give it a slightly vintage feel. This was taken with a Lensbaby 50mm

Again using the Lensbaby and a slightly stronger split tone tint. This has a bit more the look of an old large format image look about it in terms of colour

The PP on this was a lot more involved and I used a lighter vignette in some places. Very different from the others and in some was I think it an odd image but I keep coming back to it as I find it interesting to look at, more so than the others in some ways.

Nice again, Paul, but without the warmth of the beautiful reds. Still likeable, though, especially the last. I like this technique.

Cheers Rob, I know what you mean about the red it is rather nice and its easy to rely on it too much to make the image work so I thought I'd go for some monochrome images to get my head round the ideas of tones instead.

Yeah (to the crop and comments on the last image), they all have things I like about them but are not quite there yet. I have worked out roughly how I want to take the photographs and the PP. They thing is now how to compose the objects, I don't feel that the subjects are interesting enough just yet. It is only two sittings so far so hopefully things become more clear as I do more.
