Still more canal scenes.

Pic one shows a beautiful old working boat which still hauls fuel to residential boats for its living. I want it.

The other two pics are to show the iron which was placed on the corner of this bridge many years ago, to stop the ropes from one-time horse drawn boats damaging the masonary. It always amazes me that ropes could wear such large grooves into cast iron, but there are many like this on the Midlands canals.

There is a bridge across the Caldon canal which was replaced by a railway sleeper and rail bridge and even that has grooves in it

wonderful colors on the first one. the iron post shots are pretty cool, i'm amazed that it was done with rope.
