Hmm...having problems linking from 500px - my usual method no longer works, after they made changes... Tried Flickr...no problem.

I prefer the second one for the darker sky, Rob. But looking closely it appears there are some lines running down the picture from top to bottom, like something went slightly awry in the development. (Bromide drag, maybe...? Maybe Pete can suggest what it is.)

Annoyingly I forgot to attach a filter to the lens, so the whole roll is on the bright side. That's where Nik comes in handy. I'll have to check the negs before getting back to you on the lines.

Cheers, Brian.

You might be interested to know rob, I recently tried under and over exposing xp2 by 2 and 3 ev respectively to see what the results of the same sceen would look like. The over exposed shots, when brought back to correct exposure in LR showed very similar lines...
Maybe it just happens?

Didn't notice the lines at first, not the sort of thing I'd focus on to much.
Liking the second with the darker more enigmatic look. I do slightly prefer the line from the pillars to the spire in the distance in the second image over the first. Nice ones Rob.

The first is my favourite of the two. Not because of the banding but because of the wonderful balance between the stonework on the right and the bright area in the sky.

The bands are rather odd. Chris had some issues with banding and XP2 didn't he? Not sure I understand where they come from as they don't follow areas of any particular density and run in line with the film not across it. Are they visible on the negatives?

Thanks, Pete. Finally got a good look at the negs - no banding that I can see. Scanning problem? The scans were done by a pro developer, and none of the other images show any banding that I can see.
