Stormfront, Venice Beach California

My brother and his family have been over on holiday for a few days and one of our expeditions was to Venice Beach. Couldn't have picked a worse day, since the inclement weather forced many of the bizarre forms of life underground or indoors.

Took these shots with my Yashica Electro 35 GSN which I had loaded with Arista EDU 400 film and exposed at 800. Developed the roll in Rodinal diluted 1:50.

Ah but what great atmosphere it resulted in though Brian. And that first shot is superb with the thin line of light on the water and below the gathering storm. Plus a fine crop of oil drum silhouetted against the sea (or UFO guidance beacons as I believe they are more accurately called - I think I can see a couple on their approach can't I? :)

Thanks Pete. Absolutely correct about the beacons; our friends were on their final approach and their presence was obvious within an hour of me taking these pictures. ;)
