STREAM AT MILL

A small county boundary stream which as children was good to catch a few eels.
Shot this some time ago earlier this year and did not know quite which way to go to present it. Anyway, decided on this version some seven months later.

I can only see this website on my phone, so will look again on the big screen when I get home. Looks fascinating, though, although I can't quite make it out. I'll get back to you!

Thanks for the contribution so far. Yes it has a quite deliberate enigmatic quality as otherwise I think it would not work at all. It is a problem when you know something so well as I do this location, not knowing how it is for those who have no history of it.

I stare and I stare into the darkness which intrigues me, as I wish the colours would enlighten my path. Bold colours Julian and raising my curiosity.

You've accomplished much here, Julian. It could so easily have been just another woodsy scene with a stream flowing through. But you have put in that enigmatic quality that makes this a striking picture. Well done, Julian!

Thank you Brian, with such kind positive comments I shall hold my head high when out next with the camera.

This stream at the bottom of the garden where I grew up. In my teens with a darkroom and film, took photos for about a miles length, some of the spots are difficult too access but would love too again. Maybe I'll ask one of my daughters to help out as a project. It would in part be for nostalgia, the other reason I sadly lost or have mislaid all those negatives, several years worth. One positive I can look back and imagine those images too have been better than they undoubtedly were were :D

On the big screen now - very nice. Much more than my phone led me to believe. Seems a good idea to reshoot for the lost negatives...
