The temple of Athena at Priene and the Mausoleum at Halikarnassos were by the same architect, Pytheos. Begun in 340 B.C.; dedicated by Alexander the Great in 334 B.C. The date of completion of the entire temple is uncertain. The temple was used as a church in the Byzantine period.
