The Bass Rock, Firth of Forth.

A steep-sided volcanic rock and home to a large colony of gannets. Currently uninhabited, but historically has been settled by an early Christian hermit, and later was the site of an important castle, later used as a prison.

The rock has had some history Dougie. That horizontal band of cloud is really something else and to a degree becomes an eye catching feature of the image. Incredible how it is practically parallel to the horizon and the rock sits comfortable in between. Unique image really.

Many named Bass rocks around the British coast as there are Gull rocks. This one is a beauty Dougie. Love the bands with the rock showing.

A fine image, Dougie. The pano view fits well with the layers below and above the horizon and the matching array of clouds.

Thanks Pete...it was a band of mist, just above the water surface....
